Carrie is first and foremost a proud mother of two daughters, with her girls at the center of everything she does. Originally from Upstate New York, she has a deep connection to her Indigenous culture and traditions and enjoys traveling the powwow circuit. For more than 12 years, she has also been a member of Native American Women Warriors, an all-women Native veteran national color guard.

A former United States Marine and Operation Iraqi Freedom combat veteran, Carrie has continued her commitment to service throughout her professional and academic life. She has worked in real estate for the past five years, has an extensive background in the legal field, and recently graduated with a degree in Philosophy with a Pre-Law concentration.

Carrie is also passionate about early American and pre-Civil War history, particularly studying the past through an Indigenous perspective and bringing greater attention to Native stories often left out of traditional histories. In her free time, she enjoys running, horseback riding, music, reading, traveling, and, most importantly, time with her family.
